Abstract
We report the histological findings of a hydroxyapatite orbital implant 5.5 years after implantation. The hydroxyapatite orbital implant was excised from the left orbit of a 17-year-old female, and it was decalcified and processed for routine light microscopic evaluation. The implant showed complete fibrovascularization with nearly complete osteogenesis with hematopoiesis. Bone may biointegrate throughout the pores of hydroxyapatite orbital implants.
