Abstract

Rheumatic diseases are common in the pediatric population. Because the hand surgeon is often the first specialist to whom children with rheumatic disease involving the upper extremity are referred, it is important they are aware of the wide variety of disorders that can present with joint complaints to facilitate prompt referral and treatment of these patients.
