Abstract
This article describes the use of intrarectal formalin to treat intractable rectal bleeding from pelvic malignancy. Case reports of two patients with intractable rectal bleeding from pelvic malignancy are described. In both cases, treatment with intrarectal formalin stopped the rectal bleeding. Formalin instillation into the rectum is an invaluable technique when one is faced with rectal hemorrhage from inoperable pelvic tumors.
