Abstract
A wide variety of inflammatory, infectious, metabolic, and neoplastic diseases can affect the sacroiliac joints. Early in their course, some of these diseases produce only subtle and nonspecific signs and symptoms. Demonstration of characteristic joint changes, knowledge of specific clinical manifestations, and familiarity with imaging modalities can lead to early diagnosis and treatment of these patients.
