Abstract
The aim of our study was to assess the accuracy of thin-section MRI performed with a phased-array coil as a technique for the preoperative evaluation of pelvic anatomy and tumor extent in patients with rectal cancer. Thin-section MRI with a phased-array coil is accurate and reliable for preoperative evaluation of pelvic anatomy and depth of transmural tumor invasion. Thus, it may be helpful in the selection of the appropriate treatment for patients with rectal cancer.
