Abstract
Our purpose was to evaluate the role of sonography in the early follow-up of patients with a covered transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). Routine baseline Doppler sonography should occur 7-14 days after shunt placement unless malfunction or procedural complications are suspected.
