Abstract
Increased resting energy expenditure (REE) is a possible explanation for the negative energy balance seen in children with Alagille syndrome (AGS). We evaluated 16 subjects with AGS and 37 healthy controls and did not find a significant difference in REE (101% +/- 12%, 105% +/- 13%, respectively).
