Abstract
The purpose of this article is to discuss the impact of obesity on medical imaging and provide some solutions that are currently available to tackle the challenges of imaging obese patients. Increasingly, radiologists are asked to image morbidly obese patients. The challenges facing radiology departments include difficulties in transporting patients to the department, inability to accommodate large patients on currently designed imaging equipment, and difficulties in acquiring desired image quality.
