Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the manifestations of pulmonary embolism on 18F-FDG PET scans in 13 patients. The activity of acute pulmonary embolism on FDG PET scans was significantly higher than the activity of vessels not containing thrombi. The shape of the abnormal FDG uptake may be focal or curvilinear.
