Abstract
Clinical trials, retrospective studies, and case studies indicate that botulinum toxin type A is safe and effective for prophylactic and acute treatment of migraine headache. Further studies are needed to scientifically determine the optimum dosage and administration sites, and which patients are most likely to benefit from this treatment.
