Abstract
Two studies by Guo et al. (2010) and Tang et al. (2010) use comprehensive and systematic single-cell RNA profiling to address pivotal questions in mouse embryonic biology: when initial asymmetries become apparent during development and how cells adapt to an in vitro environment to become embryonic stem cells.
