Abstract
Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) are most often associated with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. Untreated, they represent a serious threat due to paradoxical embolization that may manifest as stroke or brain abscess. PAVM treatment is challenging even in the most experienced hands. Fortunately, new tools and techniques are emerging that may improve the outcomes associated with embolization and reduce some of the risks associated with treating these high-flow lesions. New trends in overall PAVM management are also developing.
