Abstract
It is well established that canonical Wnt signaling in bone regulates bone mass. Much less is known about the role of noncanonical Wnt signaling. Maeda and colleagues now report in Nature Medicine that Wnt5a-Ror2 crosstalk between bone cells enhances bone resorption, thereby negatively regulating skeletal homeostasis (Maeda et al., 2012).
