Imaging findings in tick-borne encephalitis with differential diagnostic considerations.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to provide a practical review of the spectrum of imaging findings in patients with tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) and to address possible differential diagnoses. Imaging findings in TBE resemble those of other infections, such as meningoencephalitis. However, a predilection for the thalami, basal ganglia, cerebellum, and anterior horns of the spinal cord suggests the possibility of TBE.
