Filling the gaps in knowledge and treatments for sexual health in young adult male cancer survivors.

Abstract

Male survivors of childhood cancer will spend their entire adult lives with the late effects of treatment on their sexual health. As the article in this issue by Haavisto and colleagues makes clear, the sexual difficulties in these survivors, who are most often treated for hematologic malignancies such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia, are different from men treated for prostate or testicular cancer and their sexual function treatments must be adapted to fit those needs.
