Abstract
In brief Superficial peroneal nerve palsy developed in a football player after he was hit in the lower leg by an offensive lineman. The patient failed to regain feeling in his leg after conservative treatment with an exercise program emphasizing proprioception and coordination skills. The author discusses this unusual case as well as treatment that commonly results in a successful return to sports.
