Abstract
Sometimes a patient's injuries don't respond to a normal course of treatment, or a patient's disability may seem out of proportion to the injury. This is when a physician may need to look beyond the possible physical causes. Burnout from a sport, pressure from a parent, or stress from a job are just some of the culprits that may interfere with recovery.
