Abstract
Organic semiconducting nanoprobes doped with bulky borane can undergo specific activation by ONOO<sup>-</sup> even at tumor-relevant acidic pH (6.8), permitting in vivo ratiometric photoacoustic imaging of ONOO<sup>-</sup> in the tumor environment of living mice.
