Abstract
Myocardial re-muscularization can be achieved by implantation of cardiomyocyte-containing grafts. Critical steps towards clinical translation of the 1<sup>st</sup> generation cardiac re-muscularization therapies include the choice of animal models with high predictive validity for therapeutic outcome in clinical trials.
