Abstract
An association between perioperative hyperglycemia and adverse outcomes has been established in surgical patients, <sup>-</sup> with morbidity being reduced in those treated with insulin.<sup>-</sup> A practical treatment algorithm and literature summary is provided for surgical patients with diabetes and hyperglycemia.
