Abstract
The purpose of this review is to summarize the applications of PET molecular imaging-directed biopsy of a variety of organs in the management of various diseases with a focus on cancers. PET can yield metabolic information at the cellular and molecular levels, and PET-directed biopsy is playing an increasing role in the diagnosis and staging of diseases.
