Abstract
In brief A low-fat diet, exercise, and other lifestyle changes can lead to regression of atherosclerosis in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). A review of six clinical trials shows that the therapies that showed clinical benefit were those that greatly reduced patients' LDL-C blood levels. The studies help physicians better define effective strategies for not just slowing, but reversing, patients' CAD.
