Abstract
Macrophages are a key component of the tumor microenvironment (TME). Blocking Clever-1, a molecule expressed in M2-like macrophages, unleashed macrophage and T-cell-mediated antitumor immunity. Myeloid checkpoints including Clever-1 hold promise as alternative or complementary immunotherapy strategies.<i>See related article by Viitala et al., p. 3289</i>.
