Abstract
<b>OBJECTIVE.</b> The purpose of this article is to describe the clinical applications of a total-body PET scanner and discuss future expectations. <b>CONCLUSION.</b> PET has been widely used in the fields of oncology, neurology, and cardiology. However, current PET scanners have limitations, including long scanning time, low signal-to-noise ratio, and high dose of ionizing radiation. Total-body PET with a long scan range provides solutions to these problems, markedly increasing the sensitivity of the system.
