Abstract
Platelets are anucleate but contain a rich repertoire of mRNAs. In this issue of <i>Cell Reports Medicine</i>, Shen and colleagues<sup>1</sup> present platelet transcriptomes from patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms to study disease mechanisms and generate a predictive algorithm for fibrotic progression.
