Abstract
• Morphological evaluation of SRIs is still nowadays the clinical standard in daily practice.• New functional imaging modalities show potential to add valuable physiopathological information about the insights of SRIs in specific clinical scenarios.• In the era of personalized medicine, AI algorithms may help athletes and all professionals involved in their care to improve the evaluation of SRIs through a definitive quantitative metric approach.
