Abstract
Despite significant strides promoting axon regeneration after spinal cord injury (SCI), meaningful functional recovery remains elusive. Using a combination of approaches, Squair et al.<sup>1</sup> elegantly demonstrate that axons damaged after SCI must be reconnected with their natural targets to recover lost neurological functions.
