Abstract
Breakage of K-wires within the metacarpals and phalanges due to metal fatigue and overly aggressive joint movements are encountered occasionally. We established a simple and feasible technique for K-wire retrieval by overdrilling using a hypodermic needle.<b>Level of evidence:</b> IV.
