Abstract
In the article that accompanies this editorial, Ahn and colleagues report the results of a randomized trial showing that treatment with a TROP-2 targeting antibody-drug conjugate datopotamab deruxtecan led to longer progression free survival, but unchanged overall survival compared with docetaxel in patients with previously-treated non-small cell lung cancer. While this new therapy demonstrated some modest clinical activity, in the absence of a useful biomarker or other selection factor, the data are inadequate to identify patients who will benefit from this treatment.
