Abstract
Historically, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction research has favored male participants, leaving gaps in understanding female-specific experiences. Recent efforts have begun to address this by focusing on female cohorts. Female patients generally face slower recovery trajectories, which are influenced by an interplay of biological factors and lifestyle choices. This underscores the need for women-only studies to clarify how these factors uniquely shape recovery as mixed-sex research often obscures critical differences.
