Abstract
Scarmeas and Noriega De La Colina use the ancient Greek concepts of nosos (biological disease) and asthenia (functional decline) to frame the shift in Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis from clinical symptoms to biomarkers, calling for better public understanding of both biological presence and lived experience.
