Abstract
A fundamentally crucial suggestion to rectify the fits to the high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) raw data for the S 2p core level published by Dirin et al. (<i>Nano Lett.</i> <b>2023</b>, <i>23</i> (5), 1914-1923) is presented herein.
