Abstract
In the article that accompanies this editorial, Yin et al present the early phase development and validation of a fragmentomics based biomarker for the earlier detection of pancreatic cancer. While promising, the journey from initial discovery to application is particularly challenging for early detection markers of pancreatic cancer, and will require many additional steps to ensure the benefits of screening, while minimizing harms.
