Abstract

Academic radiologists are increasingly withdrawing discretionary effort-engaging only in their baseline duties-in a phenomenon known as quiet quitting. In this Viewpoint, opinion synthesis with supporting evidence from the literature is used to explore how burnout, lack of leadership opportunity, favoritism, and pursuit of financial independence exacerbate this trend. Institutions must realign reward systems, promote equity, and restore flexibility to retain engaged faculty.
