Abstract
This systematic review evaluates critical factors influencing lumbar interbody fusion success by analyzing clinical evidence from multiple studies. The findings demonstrate that smoking significantly reduces fusion rates, while autograft use shows superior outcomes compared to synthetic alternatives. The evidence supports implementing comprehensive preoperative optimization, refined surgical techniques, and standardized postoperative protocols to enhance fusion success. These results offer valuable clinical insights for improving outcomes in lumbar fusion procedures.
