Abstract
The stability and function of the glenohumeral joint predominantly rely on the integrity of the rotator cuff tendons and their attachment at the footprint region on the greater tuberosity of the humerus. Current therapeutic strategies for rotator cuff tears are progressively evolving toward individualized and refined approaches, with vigorous debates ongoing regarding the optimal surgical techniques for specific injury patterns. In this Technical Note, we describe an arthroscopic intra-articular proximal biceps tenotomy and transfer procedure that increases footprint coverage and establishes a more conducive healing microenvironment.
