Abstract
The objective of the study is to examine the significant impact of social distancing on psychological capital and to examine the relationship between social distancing and psychological wellbeing through the mediation effect of psychological capital. The data have been collected from 246 respondents from a diverse group of people working in various organizations. Regression analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling were conducted to test the relationship between variables in the model. The results showed that psychological capital mediates the relationship between social distancing and psychological wellbeing. People should follow the norms of social distancing and possess psychological capital attributes that result in improving the psychological wellbeing of people. The study seeks to examines how strengthening psychological capital (PsyCap)-which includes hope, efficacy, resilience, and optimism-can mitigate the negative effects of social distancing on wellbeing. The paper is original and was neither previously published nor currently under consideration by another journal.
