Abstract
At Geneva University Hospitals, contact precautions for ESBL-producing Escherichia coli were discontinued in 2019. Among 2,336 hospital-associated cases from 2016 to 2024, incidence was 3.1 per 10,000 patient days at baseline and showed no significant increase after discontinuation (slope change -0.04, p=0.14). Results were consistent when limited to clinical isolates.
