Abstract
Radiologists and referrers generally have positive professional relationships. However, conflict may occur when a referrer requests a study that the radiologist does not feel is appropriate. Such conflict intensifies if the referrer documents a declined imaging request in the EMR. This Viewpoint discusses the radiologist's options in this scenario, the medicolegal implications in the setting of an adverse patient outcome, and potential remedies to avoid these interdisciplinary conflicts.
