Abstract
A horizontal tear of the meniscus is one of the most common meniscal tear patterns. This article presents a technique for horizontal meniscal repair called the B-stitch technique, including the logic behind its design. The B-stitch technique is a repair method that provides a reproducible and safe repair construct. It directs most of the compression from the suture loop to compress the tear. It also minimally strangulates the meniscal tissue while causing the least disturbance to the blood supply. Compression from the loop does not cause narrowing of the meniscus and preserves most of its native anatomy.
