Abstract
Hypercalcemia is a known manifestation of various malignant or inflammatory conditions. We present a case in which FDG-PET/CT findings helped identify granulomatous inflammation resulting from cosmetic free-silicone injections in a 43-year-old transgender woman. She was hospitalized with respiratory distress and was subsequently diagnosed with hypercalcemia. FDG-PET/CT demonstrated diffuse abnormal FDG uptake in the subcutaneous tissues in bilateral gluteal regions and upper thigh, corresponding to the sites of previous free-silicone injections performed for cosmetic enhancement.
