Abstract
The labrum plays a crucial role in hip function. During revision hip arthroscopy, labral pathology is treated in over 75% of cases. Evidence suggests preservation of the native labrum is the gold standard for treatment of labral pathology; however, significant labral deficiency and labral ossification may be irreparable and require labral reconstruction. Since labral reconstruction was first described in 2009, labral reconstruction procedures have become increasingly common and the number of reconstructions requiring revision has subsequently increased. This article describes our technique for revision reconstruction of a prior failed labral reconstruction using an iliotibial band autograft.
