Abstract
68 Ga-Trivehexin is a novel PET tracer targeting the αvβ6 integrin receptor, which is involved in cell adhesion, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. The physiological distribution of this tracer remains under investigation, as αvβ6 expression is mainly confined to epithelial cells undergoing regeneration or neoplastic transformation. Hence, unexpected uptake in nonepithelial tissues may constitute a diagnostic pitfall. We report a case of 68 Ga-Trivehexin uptake in the pituitary gland without any corresponding abnormality on CT or MRI. This observation highlights the need for careful molecular and morphologic correlation to distinguish physiological from pathologic tracer uptake.
