Abstract
The growing complexity of surgical care has resulted in a greater demand for ICU admissions. Relying solely on patient- and procedure-specific predictors may be insufficient for accurately determining appropriate patient disposition. Considering the actual care requirements that justify ICU admission, and assessing the feasibility of delivering such interventions on surgical wards, can enhance clinical decision-making regarding patient placement.
