Abstract
Donation after circulatory death (DCD) is both the main driver of growth in deceased organ donation in the US and a complex procedure that has created a multitude of ethical challenges. This perspective identifies areas for improvement in DCD donation regarding processes, discussions, and interpretations of legal norms.
