Editorial Commentary: Biologic Tuberoplasty With Dermal Allograft May Be a Reliable and Durable Option for Massive Irreparable Rotator Cuff Without Glenohumeral Arthritis…for Now.

Abstract

Massive irreparable rotator cuff tears remain a persistent challenge. Reverse shoulder arthroplasty is increasingly performed, yet complications and long-term durability are concerns in younger patients. Outcomes of a subacromial balloon spacer have been conflicting. Biologic tuberoplasty with dermal allograft provides another joint preservation option. While longer follow-up and comparative data are required, early results of biologic tuberoplasty are encouraging.
