How to Manage an Adult Patient With IgA Nephropathy in the Current Era?

Abstract

IgA nephropathy is the most common glomerular disease worldwide, with a high rate of progression to end-stage kidney disease over time. During the last several years, there has been an explosion of novel therapies with unique therapeutic targets that are now available on the market following completion of several large randomized controlled clinical trials. Many of these drugs are now Food and Drug Administration approved for use in IgA nephropathy, and many more are coming down the pike. However, the order in which these therapies should be implemented in clinical practice remains unclear. In this article, we provide a comprehensive review of the recent clinical trials in addition to a guide on how to implement them into practice by using unique real-world cases.
