Abstract
Youth with type 1 diabetes and disordered eating received a tailored, cross-disciplinary intervention in an uncontrolled proof-of-concept cohort study. Among 31 participants (613 youth screened), disordered-eating symptoms and HbA1c improved markedly during follow-up (median 482 days [IQR 217-808]), while mental well-being and body mass index remained stable. The approach reduced Diabetes Eating Problem Survey Revised scores from pathological to normal levels, indicating meaningful clinical benefit.
