Abstract
Superthin ALT flaps offer functional and aesthetic advantages in hemitongue reconstruction. Preserving a deep fascia cuff enables a safer, more intuitive, and practical approach. Thirty-seven cases were retrospectively reviewed. Flap thickness and cuff diameter were analyzed for association with complications. Mean flap thickness was 0.69 cm and cuff diameter 3.09 cm. Neither showed significant correlation with thrombosis or flap failure. This standardized technique offers a reliable, intuitive method for safe and effective hemitongue reconstruction using superthin ALT flaps.
