Abstract
Older adults who sustain a hip fracture frequently experience loss of independence and identifying care pathways that improve recovery remains a major clinical priority. In their recent study, Netzer et al. report that patients managed within an orthogeriatric model of care (OMC) were more frequently discharged to rehabilitation facilities and subsequently home. They further observed improved adherence to key clinical care standards.
